When the sun reaches the highest point of its trajectory in the sky, it is noon there. Each meridian, therefore, has its own specific solar time.

For convenience, every nation adopts, throughout the territory, a single hour, generally thewinter timepresent in the capital.

In 1884, to alleviate the chronological gap between the various states, the Washington conference examined the system ofdaylight savings time.

This system divides the Earth into 24cloves, all equal. Such wedges are better defined as"Fused“: This is how the concept oftime zone.

In Italy, fordaylight savings timewe mean the one we use in the summer. That is, the 60-minute shift forward, established by law, from the time normally in force.

In our country we have kept the terminology "solar time and summer time "even if technically, thewinter time(the summer one) does not exactly correspond to the astronomical solar time. In many other countries, clearer and more direct terminology is used, in fact we speak ofsummer timeiswinter time.
